Which of the following sentences is correct and grammatical?
a. A man walking his dog said he heard the car driven away at top speed.
b. A man walking his dog said he heard the car driving away at top speed.
Please answer me as quickly as possible because I might be able to get one more mark in my English exam, thank you.

The answer should be A.
We should use passive voice here.
The car is driven by somebody, but not driving away by itself.

Thank you, zubat. My teacher said my answer was wrong, so I'll ask him to add marks to my exam paper (but some students may have a decrease in their exams as they have answered "driving" in their exam papers!).
P.S. What grade are you studying at, zubat? You are very good at English!

You are good at English too!
Many people do not know that "driving" and "driven" are both participles. The only difference between them is the voice.
Some people do not even know that a verb of perception should be followed by either a bare infinitive or participle.

Actually, I wish to be an English teacher in the future. ^^"
