The Official Way to Celebrate New Year

You know, it's New Year again. And we all know that people celebrate New Year, it's a tradition that almost every culture shares. People celebrate with food and parties. However, that does not apply to me. As we know, a party does not happen in a second--preparation is required. And I am the one responsible for that. Before New Year comes, I have to work extra hours to get everything ready. It is normal that I hold meetings with other officers from day to night before the celebration starts. New Year is unarguably my busiest time of the year. Therefore, my vacation always starts after the New Year celebration ends.

     I want to say that it's my pleasure to serve... but that would be lying. In fact, holding events and celebration has nothing to do with my job. I am an administrative officer of the League, and my job is to keep the League running. There should have been somebody else taking care of this. Unfortunately, I received a note from my colleague, saying that he would be away for two weeks. To be honest, I have no idea why he would disappear right at this time. It is the busiest time of the year--dawn it! I looked through the window, and suddenly noticed that something green with big eyes was looking at me.

    "Yes I know you want to play now... but I have a lot of work to do," I gently patted my Flygon but he seemed unsatisfied. Although I tried many ways to comfort him, every single one of them failed. Finally, I surrendered.

    "Alright, just today," I put on my jacket and was ready to leave my office. "Let's go."

     Just in a split second, I found myself surrounded by a fierce sandstorm. "Takeoff!" I yelled with excitement. At that time, I had thrown work out of my mind. "Who cares about the celebration? People don't appreciate my work and always think they deserve more than that. So I won't care either. I'm going to take a day off by all means!" And that was my thought at that time.
