(1) Explain spontaneous generation and at least one experiment that proves spontaneous generation can not occur.

(2)In what organelle does photosynthesis take place?And at least two differences between prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

(3)Why grocery stores spray water in their produce?What is the name for this cellular process?

(4)Cells divide when the_______ to ________ ratio becomes too great to allow cell contents access to the membrane of the cell.

(5)How might having a particularly high surface area-to-volume ratio benefit a cell?Would it influence a cell's ability to perform certain functions?Explain why or why not.

(6)What advantages are there of being a multicellular organism?What disadvantages are their?

1. Spontaneous generation stated that complex, living organisms are generated by decaying organisms
Experiment:
不詳寫了,由maggot from decaying meat/ fungi or bacteria in water之類去開始思考吧

2. Chloroplast. Prokaryotic photosynthesis occurs in the infolded plasma membrane of the prokaryote. Eukaryotic photosynthesis occurs in chloroplast.
Prokaryotes have bacteriochlorophyll but not eukaryotes.

3. To avoid drying out of the vegetables. Transpiration cause the drying of plants.

4. 指哪個stage of division? I phase還是cytokinesis?

5. High suface A to volume ratio facilitates exchange of materials between cells and their surroundings. (Think of heat loss when surface A to V ratio is large, similar concept)

6. Multicelluar organisms are more complex and be able to carry out more difficult tasks; for example, a human can lift up a heavy object but a bacteria can't.
However, since multicellular organisms involve the interaction between cells and oragans, if one part of an organ is damaged, it could be fatal to one.
